Here's part 2 of our series we’ve put together to highlight best practices for maximizing outreach and engagement. We want to shed light on how some of our clients are using their apps to deepen engagement, foster community, and get people connected within the body of Christ. 

Connect Tab 

A unique way to get your audience plugged in is through having a connect tab. Similar to the Sunday tab, the connect tab easily provides your audience ways to get involved. In Elevate Life’s connect tab, users can fill out a connect card, learn more about their mission, join a ministry team, and get involved in outreach projects directly from the app. Let’s say a member is listening to a sermon and gets inspired to join a small group–they can then navigate easily from the media tab over to the connect tab and sign up in mere seconds. Whatever avenues your ministry provides for people to get involved, creating a connect tab is a great way to sync those efforts into one place, and engage people beyond the Sunday service. That’s the hope right? Reaching people through technology is truly effective when outreach turns into response. Whether it’s inspiring deeper relationships with Christ through a sermon series, increasing attendance from event reminder push notifications, or getting newcomers connected through a connection card tab, creating a healthy and connected church community is the ultimate goal. That is why we’ve put together a collection of best practices for maximizing outreach and engagement. We want to shed light on how some of our clients are using their apps to deepen engagement, foster community, and get people connected within the body of Christ. Here are a few examples of ways our clients have used their apps to better engage their audience.

Sunday Tab 

We love the way Ecclesia Hollywood put together their Sunday tab! Being the first tab users see when opening the app, their Sunday tab creates a great space for users to easily engage with their content and take action during Sunday services. Within this tab are resources and opportunities geared toward newcomers, regulars, and people who want to get more involved. By putting their weekly scripture, connect card, and bulletin resources directly within the tab, Ecclesia not only saves money on printing costs, but are also making it easier for attendees to engage directly from their devices. Our Newest Layout: Gridview

Your artwork just became center-stage. We know you put a lot of effort into crafting beautiful images, and your Van Gogh's and Picasso's are going to love this. With our new Gridview layout option, media content can now be displayed in a way that showcases customized, beautiful artwork. We’re thrilled to see the Village Church, Mars Hill, and The Father’s House already adopting this layout with their captivating sermon series images. With a world that is becoming more and more image-centric, Gridview provides a great option to captivate users with an image based design. Happy customizing!

The Subsplash Sharing Player

Here at Subsplash we like to do things a little bit different. When we thought through revamping social sharing through The Church App, we wanted to make a one of a kind experience that truly helped expand the reach of the ministries we serve. This new feature was built to deliver delight and put you in control!

The Subsplash Sharing player is a whole new experience that is automatically powered by the App Builder to share your audio and video! Now when your community gets excited about your media and wants to share it with the world, they can easily post it to Twitter and Facebook with a special web link and sharing page for that specific existing media item that automatically populates with your artwork, files, and meta data - no extra work for you! Their friends and followers can watch or listen as well as view information about your organization via this customized page. The new Subsplash Sharing Player is a great way to share your media via the web and increase your visibility for those that might not have your app...yet!

 1. If your audience finds a message they love, or they want to promote your church’s latest sermon, they can simply click their preferred social media outlet, and the rest is easy!!

2. When your audience shares on Twitter, email, or Facebook, their post will include a short sharing url to a dynamic page where their friends and followers can watch and listen to your message. It's also responsive and optimized for the device it is opened on, whether your audience is tuning in via mobile, desktop, or tablet... we’ve got you covered! Visitors can also quickly and easily download the apps.

3. There is no step 3! Voilà! If you use the Subsplash Sharing Player + Dashboard your customized sharing page is beautiful and ready to be shared with the world!
